Today is like Christmas Day in Manayunk. All the college kids are moving out and leaving behind all the stuff they can't fit in their compact cars. Driving for Lyft has its perks because as I made my way around town I got to eye up all of the piles of stuff on the curbs. I came home with a coffee table (it was admittedly ugly, but I knew I had to have it). I also got a nice entryway table that I've been looking for for weeks, but that was at a thrift shop not on the curb. I would decorate my whole house with items I found on the street if I find the right ones. About a month ago I found a really nice desk chair on the corner about 10 blocks away. I carried it to a friends house 2 blocks from there and then drove it home later. I love that chair. But today, I found my slightly ugly coffee table. The ugly part was the brushed gold base, but it had a really nice round glass top. I struggled to get it into my car alone, but then some nice lady helped me carry it into my house when I got home. A quick run to True Value and some gray spray paint made my slightly ugly table actually really adorable. Our little house now looks like an adult home versus a post-grad bachelorette pad.
Speaking of Bachelorette... tis the season of the new season. Today, my roommate Shawna nominated me to be on next season of The Bachelor, so naturally she's my favorite right now. We wrote on there about my blog, so producers if you are reading this, I would be a great candidate for the show. My dating life spans from an arrest threat, a virgin, a ghost, and plenty of boys trapped in mens bodies. I am so ready to be cast on the next season, especially if Connor is the new Bachelor. I can see my bio now: Mallory Minor, 25, Lyft Driver, Grad Student, Curb Furniture Stealer, Will Probably Steal Your Heart Too. Has a nice ring to it. So Chris Harrison, do me a solid and pick me, I won't let you down.
